On May 2006 the 1st ASOI-NYU symposium was launched in Cairo Egypt, with presence of assistant dean and director, continuing dental education programs of NYU. Mr.Kendall Beacham and NYU continuing education program director in Egypt Dr.Elaskary.

Conducted by one of the pioneers in the field of implantology worldwide, Prof.Dr.Dennis Tarnow, the symposium was led to a huge success.

The comprehensive scientific program presented by Prof.Tarnow left quite an impact on the participants, covering multiple aspects involved in modern implant dentistry, interacting with all the participants in an opened discussion, his powerful presentation was the hot topic between implantologists for months after the symposium.

The symposium was launched by an opening speech by Dr.Elaskary President of ASOI and NYU continuing education program director in Egypt, presenting the aims and profile of the association, followed by the honoring of people who affected the continuing education and practice worldwide and nationwide, the were given honoring shields in the following order

As the ASOI aims to deliver the most updated knowledge to the Arabian dentists, through applying advanced educational sessions that foresees our future needs and through bringing the pioneers of the field to you here in Egypt, this aim was achieved by the testimonials of more than 400 participants, who were astonished by the quality of organization, audiovisuals setup and of course the highly calibrated scientific material.

As the symposium had a high attraction for the Arab dentists, and the strict ASOI policy of providing the participants of its educational sessions with the best comforting conditions and thus limiting the participants’ number. It was the first time in Egypt that a congress registration was closed 4 days ahead of the symposium, to assure providing the quality of education the participants deserve.
